Does your league make cuts?

Jr. Novice does not cut players as it is based on first come, first serve.

DYFL, the league that governs us, limits the number of sign ups for Novice, Jr. Varsity and Varsity to 60 potential participants.  Should more than 45 participants sign up per division, cuts will be necessary.  The final roster of 45 will be based on coaches evaluations made during our training camp. Should you have more questions, please speak with your participants head coach.

Does your league have a minimum play rule?

Minimum play is not mandated by Delta Youth Football League.  As a franchise, however, the Tracy Cougars have a minimum play rule of 4.  It is each coach’s responsibility to follow this franchise rule to the best of his ability.  There may be occasions (injury, safety, post season play, etc.) when this will not be followed.

What are the boundaries for your league?

We are a feeder program to West High School and follow their boundaries closely.  Cougar territory is West of Tracy Boulevard and North of Valpico.  If you are unsure, please contact us at info@tracycougarsfootball.com

Why is there a volunteer fee?

Tracy Cougars is an all volunteer organization and would not be able to operate without parent participation.  Your fee will be returned to you at the end of the season if you have fulfilled your minimum of 4 hours volunteer time.  Volunteers are needed in various areas; please contact Renee Pinder, our Volunteer Coordinator, for more details at volunteer@tracycougarsfootball.com
